Zonolite Attic Insulation ("ZAI") was produced and sold from the 1920/1930s to 1984 in the form of attic insulation pebbles. Asbestos proved to be a health risk leading to devaluation of such properties. Consumers and construction companies installed it on top of ceilings, as a means of thermal insulation.
